“You need a good support system when you’re trying to make positive lifestyle changes. If everyone is eating burgers and fries while you’re having fish and salad,
it’s easy to lose your willpower.”-Bob Harper

How many of you have ever been so dedicated to your workouts, diets, etc. but just one tiny moment of temptation seemed to throw all your hard work out the window? You worked so hard all week, or maybe for the last few weeks, and perhaps you found yourself in a situation where it felt like everyone but you was indulging in all the food you’ve been craving since you started your journey. And maybe you began to question everything and asked yourself:

“Why am I the only one struggling?”
“Why does it just seem to be only me who is on a diet right now?”
“What’s the point?”

I’ve been there. A lot. And it’s not fun. When you’re constantly tempted to not workout (here’s looking at you comfy couch and Netflix!) or to not be true to your diet ( Hellooooo Domino’s pan pizza with pepperoni and sausage and bread-sticks…and OK I also can’t resist a coke with that combo). Deciding to commit yourself to a healthy lifestyle is no walk in the park. It’s hard work. You’re constantly battling with all the temptations the outside world has to offer. And it can be so very lonely. And who wants to be in something alone? Not me!!!

So here’s my suggestion for you, get an accountability partner! Find someone who is committing themselves to a healthier lifestyle, and go on that journey with them. Side by side. Hand in hand. You’re in this together. Whether that be your boyfriend/girlfriend, sibling, parent, best friend, etc. It doesn’t matter who you pick, but my only advice would be to choose someone who will lift you up on your bad days (trust me when I say they will happen more often than you’d like) and rejoice with you on your great days. Find someone who will relate to you and empathize with you when you slip up, but always encourage you to just keep moving forward and never give up. They will be your pillar of strength and your greatest cheerleader. And you can be the same for them! Start that search process right now, this very second. Call on someone to be there for you and vice versa. Going from an unhealthy lifestyle to a healthy one is a hard thing to accomplish. Don’t do it alone!
