Just like in about everything, there is more than one right way to do something, but there are also wrong ways as well.  This is especially true in the sport of kickboxing.  Take the most fundamental exercise such as wrapping one’s hands. There are western boxing styles and eastern (Thai) boxing styles, then any number of personal styles, but the objective is always the same – protect the small bones and ligaments in the hands and wrists.

I prefer the long (180) “Mexican” style wraps with a little elastic in them. They will give you enough wrap to do a good job no matter the size of your hand and the elastic gives a nice tight fit and doesn’t bunch or gap.

Here are a couple videos that will help you get the idea and will allow you to develop a style of hand wrap that works best for you.
