We are reopening the studio May 16th but know the guidelines. Read on…

TRANSITIONING TO THE NEW NORMAL AFTER COVID-19. How to enjoy recreational activities in the new age where social distancing is the social convention.

COVID-19 is a global crisis that touches us all. Everyone’s neighborhood has been touched by this pandemic. Immediate and severe measures were necessary for the good of the community and it has had the correct result.  Maricopa County Department of Public Health says data is clearly showing a flattening of the curve.

GOVERNOR DUCEY has extended his “Stay Home, Stay Safe, Stay Connected” order through May 15th and explained his administration will take a gradual approach to reopen Arizona. An extended order means we will continue doing what we have been doing. And we will plan to reopen Saturday, May 16th.

Please have a look at May’s calendar to see what the schedule will look like for the month and start booking (reserving) your lessons now. Telephone or text me on the Gym/Dojo’s new number. Here is what I anticipate re-opening in May will look like:

SANITATION IS A DAILY PRACTICE AT COACH DECKER’S STUDIO

COACHES will clean and disinfect all surfaces with bleach, or a comparable, safe cleaning agent. The mat, front reception area, changing rooms, and bathroom will be cleaned daily. All equipment will be cleaned and disinfected after every use. Coaches must not come to the studio if they have been ill, or anyone in their household has been ill for the past 14 days.  They will set an example of good hygiene.

NO MORE THAN 10 PEOPLE IN THE STUDIO AT ANY TIME.

MEMBERS will have to schedule lessons. No more than 6 students per lesson. Students may only come twice a week. Parents must wait outside; sorry (you can watch through the glass windows). Yes, you may use the bathroom; the back door will be unlocked. Everyone must sign a new, update liability waiver.  Students should not schedule a lesson if they or someone in the same household has been ill in the past 14 days. Students must wash their hands upon entering and when leaving. Facemasks are allowed, maybe even recommended, but not required at this time.

ACCOUNTS, as you know, member accounts have been on hold. We want to thank you so much for being our members and students! This is not only my passion, but my business, so I must take necessary steps to ensure my business can survive.  All member accounts will resume at the previously agreed upon rates in May.  Thank you for your continued support as we re-open.  I am excited to continue teaching martial arts to you and your families.
